Mailchimp Presents: Taking Stock
For any of us who have been in the creative field long enough, chances are we’ve come across plenty of stock images that leave us wondering… “how?” “why?” “is this man actually using toilet paper as binoculars?”
And you’re probably met with more questions like, “what the hell does this have to do with Mailchimp?…Also, yes, IS that man using toilet paper as binoculars…?”
Mailchimp wanted to launch a content channel targetted specifically towards their network of small business owners, entrepreneurs, self starters…with content they could relate to and, in turn, demonstrate how Mailchimp speaks to them and provides them with tools to get things moving.
Enter: Taking Stock. A story set in the bizarre world of stock photography where a young photographer, trapped in an uninspiring role that “pays the bills” and questions if photography is even still her passion.
We worked with a team of writers and directors to concept, script and direct a five-part series that could deliver a story of hopeful entrepreneurism that gets stuck in a rut all set within the wonderfully absurd world of stock photography.
At least how we’ve always imagined it to be.
VICE x AT&T Presents: OCTOPUS, a short film
Inspired by true events, ‘The Network Diaries: Octopus’ tells the story of a girl named Olivia, some real life octopi, and how they saved one another, all thanks to the help of the AT&T Network. For this special project I worked closely with director, Dan Beers of Moxie Pictures, to develop a 15 minute short that told the story of the power of connection from the AT&T Network to the eight-legged aquatics.
